With an international conference on the topic “Artificial Intelligence and IT Audit in Safeguarding of the Public Resources”, the Bulgarian National Audit Office will mark two important anniversaries in its history - 145 years since its establishment and 30 years since the restoration of the audit institution.

The forum, which will be held on 10th of November at Grand Hotel Millennium in Sofia, will be attended by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev, Ministers of Finance and e-Government Temenuzhka Petkova and Valentin Mundrov, and Member of the European Court of Auditors Iliana Ivanova.

The most important aspects and achievements of the State and companies in developing AI capacity for the benefit of good governance, the possible cyber threats that every institution must be prepared for, and whether artificial intelligence is a partner or a threat for auditors - these are some of the topics that will be presented by speakers from the public and private sectors.

Among them are:  Eng. Borislav Petrov, Executive Director of INSAIT (Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology) at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Silvia Peneva, Managing Partner at Deloitte-Bulgaria, Dobroslav Dimitrov Chairman of the Bulgarian Employers' Association Innovative Technologies (BRAIT) and Member of the Advisory Board of the Bulgarian Association of Software Companies (BASSCOM), Alvar Nõuakas, Chair of the EUROSAI IT Working Group (European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions).

The experience of the Bulgarian National Audit Office in preparing for the implementation of artificial intelligence in audit activities will also be shared.

The forum begins at 9:30 am.

A the 3D mapping production is also dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the Bulgarian National Audit Office, through which the history of the audit institution will come to life on the facade of the Regional History Museum-Sofia. The light installation will be broadcast on 9th of November from 17.00 h to 22.00 h in Bulgarian and English languages for the citizens and guests of the capital.
